Risk factors for QTc interval prolongation and dispersion, signals of an elevated risk for cardiac arrhythmia and sudden loss of life, have been looked into in patients with eating disorders (ED) and ongoing weight reduction. Patients were characterized with regard to weight, body mass index (BMI; weight/duration2), duration of weight loss, rate of weight reduction and the rate of weight reduction immediately preceding examination. At examination, a 12‐lead electrocardiographic (ECG) registration and blood samples for analysis of serum electrolytes were obtained.

In total, 92 examinations in 58 feminine patients aged 15.5 ± 1.7 (suggest ± SD)y were analysed. Control ECG recordings were from 38 normal‐weight teenage women with no known heart disease. Patients with ED weighed 40.7 ± 7.8 kg, matching to BMI 15.2 ± 2.4 kg/m2 following a weight loss of 11.8 ± 6.5 kg.

In ED patients, the ECG showed bradycardia, a shift to the right of the QRS axis, reduced amplitudes of the QRS T and complex wave, and prolongation and increased dispersion of the QTc interval. In multiple regression analyses low weight, low BMI, and rapid weight loss immediately preceding the examination were the most crucial impartial predictors of QTc interval prolongation and dispersion.

I think the Fitbit was somewhat more accurate to know while I was asleep vs. Both interfaces let you click into the categories to see more specific data. I believe my stair count was more accurate with FitBit compared to Garmin but both of them can be wildly inaccurate. It’s not just a metric I value therefore I don’t brain too much. Challenges of Fitbit vs. Both Fitbit, and Garmin have “challenge” options where you can request your friends to step and activity problems. I did so these a lot when I had a FitBit and I really loved them.

I’ve only attempted it once with Garmin and I didn’t like an individual user interface as much. I also don’t know as much Garmin owners, whereas plenty of my friends have Fitbits. Fitbit also has a lot of different “badges” which are kind of fun. It’ll let you know when you’ve walked the distance of the fantastic Wall of China or when you’ve climbed enough stairs to reach the very best of the Eiffel Tower. Many of them are kind of ridiculous but it was fun breaking certain records!

Overall, I came across Fitbit’s problem option to be more fun and useful for me, but if you had a complete lot of serious running friends I believe Garmin will be a good go with. I found the options to be a little overpowering so having this chart helped a great deal. The Vivo series appears to be the most like Fitbit, although a range is experienced by them of options. 899, so they can be quite an investment. Garmin definitely has some unique options for individuals looking for very specific features (like comprehensive boat connectivity… whatever that is.) However they don’t have as many inexpensive options.
